Schlägl, 18. Juli 2005, 03:35 MESZ: Um 03:30 MESZ hob sich überm Böhmerwald erstmals ein kräftiges und helles, vorerst noch nicht strukturiertes Wolkenband ab. Eine eindeutige Identifizierung als NLC war zu diesem Zeitpunkt noch nicht möglich.

At 01:30 UT a bright part of a NLC appeared over the ridge of the Bohemian Forest. But at this time it was not possible to confirm the cloud as a NLC.

Some minutes later typical bands and waves showed the real nature of the phenomenon; it should become one of the most impressive Noctilucent Clouds during my 11 years of observations. The village in front of the Bohemian Forest is named Aigen.
