Neudorf bei Haslach, 8. Juli 2004, 22:53 MESZ: In diesen Tagen herrschten in den hohen atmosphärischen Schichten offenbar beste Bedingungen für die Entstehung von Leuchtenden Nachtwolken. Bereits zum dritten Mal in Folge zeigten sich auch an diesem Sommerabend NLC´s. Aufgrund dichter horizontnaher Bewölkung konnten die hellen Wolken erst ab etwa 22:50 MESZ erkannt werden. Eine Anzahl an Bändern, gekreuzt von zahlreichen kurzen Wellen, kennzeichnete diese Erscheinung. Auch diesmal fehlte das typische Blau - die Höhe der Strukturen erreicht nur 5°!

21:53 UT: During these days the conditions for the developing of NLC´s must have been excellent in the upper atmosphere. This evening was the third time in a row with observations of Noctilucent Clouds. Because of a cloud layer at the horizon the NLC´s were seen very late this evening (from 20:50 UT on). Many bands and crossing waves were characteristical for this evening. The maximum elevation was 5° only - the typical faint blue color was not seen.
